Denver, CO, February 19, 2008—AfterOurs Urgent Care, HealthONE Occupational Medicine, and 1st Health Centers have all announced that they will administer free influenza vaccines in response to the February 19th Denver Post article which details the flu related deaths of 4 children in Colorado, since mid-January.
“We’re partnering with our daytime healthcare providers to help curb the affects of this year’s flu on children. Though the deaths such as those recently reported are an extraordinarily rare situation, many parents will want the piece of mind that comes with a vaccination.” said Christopher Rehm, Executive Director for AfterOurs Urgent Care, which operates urgent care centers in Denver and Omaha. Mr. Rehm also noted that AfterOurs will also be providing free flu tests for children under 18 whose clinical indications support such testing. This additional free service is available only at AfterOurs during its normal business hours.
